Our Staff

The Growing Place employs approximately 100 dedicated caregivers and administrative staff. Our learning centers' staff members are required to have criminal record, FBI fingerprinting, National Sex Offender Registry, and PA Child Abuse clearances. They obtain required physicals and continuing education along with training in first aid, fire safety, recognizing and reporting child abuse, and emergency preparedness. All of our staff members are required to obtain professional development in specific topics each year.

Most of our teachers have bachelor’s degrees in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field with ECE credits. Most of our assistant teachers have or are working towards their CDA, or Child Development Associate Certification. This is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated competence in meeting the needs of children, and is recognized as an important building block to improve the quality of child care.
