PA Early Childhood Education & Daycare

The Growing Place Child Care Centers, PA's #1 Day Care & Early Care Programs

We know that selecting child care is one of the most important and difficult decisions you will ever make. We appreciate your interest in our programs and look forward to getting to know your family.

The Growing Place Child Care Centers began in 1976 as an outreach of Salem-St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kresgeville, PA. Today, The Growing Place is a non-profit subsidiary of the church, supported by parent fees and fundraising campaigns.

Over the years, The Growing Place has grown to meet the changing needs of the area and operates two large sites within former Pleasant Valley elementary schools in the West End of Monroe County. Our third center, opened in 2018, is located within the Stroudsburg Middle School.

Pennsylvania's Best  Child Care Services

  • Infants & Toddlers (Ages O-3)

    • Our infants and toddlers aged eight weeks to three years are cared for in a homelike environment, where children learn through active play and hands-on experience. The curriculum incorporates age-appropriate stories, music and movement, art projects, and activities in our daily routine. These activities are connected to the Early Learning Standards as well as to individual child assessments and goals.

  • Preschool (Ages 3-5)

    • The Growing Place offers three different preschool programs which all share the same high-quality curriculum. We celebrate each exciting stage of preschool development while fostering problem-solving and critical social and emotional skills. The programs enrich kindergarten readiness through a variety of stimulating activities built around language and literacy, science, math, creative art, and social studies.

  • School (Grades K-5)

    • The Growing Place provides before- and after-school care.  In the morning, children may bring breakfast and participate in games and creative art activities or just relax and play with friends. In the afternoon, children are given a snack followed by homework supervision. The children may choose from exciting learning centers as well as physical activities in the gym or outdoors.
