Working Parent Program

This program is dedicated to working families of infants through school age. Children may attend full or part-time depending on the needs of the family. Age-appropriate educational components are built into each day’s schedule.

Preschool Working Parent Program
Our Working Parent Preschoolers receive the same high-quality curriculum as in our Preschool classrooms, delivered within a full day. We celebrate each exciting stage of preschool development while fostering problem-solving and critical social and emotional skills. This program enriches kindergarten readiness through a variety of stimulating activities built around language and literacy, science, math, creative art, and social studies.

Infant/Toddler Working Parent Program
Our infants and toddlers aged eight weeks to three years are cared for in a homelike environment, where children learn through active play and hands-on experience. The curriculum incorporates age-appropriate stories, music and movement, art projects, and activities in our daily routine. These activities are connected to the Early Learning Standards as well as to individual child assessments and goals.

School Age Working Parent Program
The Growing Place provides before- and after-school care. In the morning, children may bring breakfast and participate in games and creative art activities or just relax and play with friends.  In the afternoon, children are given a snack followed by homework supervision.  The children may choose from exciting learning centers as well as physical activities in the gym or outdoors.

Three-Year-Old Preschool
Our three-year-old preschool develops your child’s growing ability to express themselves in words and ideas. The Three’s program provides opportunities to develop beginning language and literacy skills, small and large muscle control, explore music and movement, and foster problem-solving and critical social and emotional skills. Kresgeville only.

Four-Year-Old Preschool
Four-year-old preschool celebrates growing independence and sociability while preparing your child for the exciting challenges of kindergarten. The Four’s program is designed to encourage social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language skills. Friends become more important, fostering more cooperative, organized play. Kresgeville only.

Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts Preschool
PA Pre-K Counts was established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to bring quality pre-kindergarten to Pennsylvania preschoolers. Pre-K Counts is for children who may be academically at risk due to family income, language, cultural issues, special needs, or other circumstances.

The Growing Place delivers a half-day PA Pre-K Counts preschool program, five days a week, to 90 at-risk area preschoolers in Brodheadsville and Kresgeville. In 2017 we added a full-day PA Pre-K Counts class with the option of tuition-based wrap-around care to assist working families.  In 2018, we added two full-day classes at our new center at the Stroudsburg Middle School.  We currently serve 144 children in Pre-K Counts.  PA Pre-K Counts is free to families who qualify.
